Six Decades of Precision
From pioneering hermetic sealing in Israel to delivering mission-critical solutions for today’s aerospace and defense leaders — Hermetron’s evolution reflects six decades of innovation trusted by the most demanding applications.
1967 Hermetron is Founded
Ilan Gorstein establishes Hermetron, bringing hermetic sealing technology to Israel after specializing in this field in the United States. The company becomes one of the earliest developers of hermetically sealed components in the country.
2000–2007 Scaling Infrastructure and Engineering Capabilities
Over two decades, Hermetron invests in industrial growth, acquiring specialized furnaces, CNC machinery, and CAD/CAM tools to support scalable precision manufacturing. This era establishes the operational backbone that will support next-generation hermetic solutions. Second-generation leadership joins during this time, continuing the company’s vision and strengthening its engineering culture.
2012 Alumina Lapping for Detonator Components
Hermetron specialized in alumina precision lapping process to produce ultra-flat surfaces required for detonator components — enhancing reliability in defense applications.
2014 GlassTomer™ Developed for IAI
A major milestone: Hermetron develops GlassTomer™, a proprietary hybrid sealing material, for Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI). This enables high-performance, light weight hermetic sealing for aluminum-based housings, opening new possibilities in aerospace and defense applications.
2015 AS9100 Certification and Engineering Control
Hermetron achieves AS9100 certification, endorsing compliance with international aerospace and defense quality standards. The same year, a Product Data Management (PDM) system is implemented, streamlining revision control and engineering documentation.
2016 Hybrid Glass-to-Metal & GlassTomer™ Combination
Hermetron delivers its first products combining traditional glass-to-metal seals with GlassTomer™, offering hybrid solutions for components that demand material flexibility and precision sealing.
2019 Ceramic Sealing and Multi-Layer Hybrid Solutions
Hermetron introduces ceramic-to-metal sealing and in-house ceramic metallization capabilities. This leads to the launch of multi-layer hybrid hermetic solutions combining Glass, GlassTomer™, and Ceramic — engineered for the most sensitive and mission-critical environments.
2021 Hermetic Enhancement of Standard Shelf Items
Expanding product flexibility, Hermetron begins offering hermetic enhancement of standard commercial connectors, such as D-Type and MIL-DTL-38999 connectors, using GlassTomer™ sealing technology — allowing custom performance without expensive tooling.
2023 Major Facility Upgrade in Caesarea
Hermetron relocates to a larger, modernized, new facility in Caesarea Business Park.
2023 In-House Spot Welding Added
Hermetron adds in-house micro spot welding capabilities, offering full turnkey products for its customers.
2025 What’s Next?
With a legacy of reliability and a culture of precision, Hermetron continues to lead in technology of advanced hermetic solutions for the most demanding applications
